What is the iLift Treatment?
iLift is a low-powered device that is used for various kinds of skin treatments. It is especially effective in lifting and tightening loose skin around the eyes, which is very thin and will lose elasticity faster than the rest of the face. iLift is the next generation technology for skin tightening and stimulating collagen production. This effect is achieved with a “spark” which generates heat, warming the skin and thus achieving the desired effect.
Where can iLift be used?
iLift can be used on any part of the skin, but the exciting part is that it can be used on the area around the eyes, which was only formerly achievable with surgery.
How is iLift performed?
Following application of anaesthetic cream, treatment commences by holding the device over the selected area, where a spark is created in the space between the device tip and the skin.This spark creates a response in the skin, leading to collagen induction/production and the subsequent rejuvenating effect.
This treatment does not involve any cutting, injecting, burning or removal of skin or tissue. It is particularly good at working on small areas of heavily lined skin such as upper and lower eye, ‘smoker’s’ lines over the mouth and the area around the belly button.
Are there any side effects from iLift?
The side effects are immediate and may include swelling & reddening of the treated area for 2-3 days. The healing process will include crusting (which should be left to fall away naturally) over the course of about a week.
Treatments can sometimes lead to more prolonged redness and swelling, while the skin recovers, this is more likely when the eye lids or areas close to the eye are treated. It can take up to 7 to 10 days to fully recover for some individuals.
Makeup can be applied as cover where needed once the skin has shed. The results are instant and improve over the next 2-4 weeks.
How painful is iLift?
A local anaesthetic cream is used for your comfort, and we advice you administer over the counter relief pre and post treatment to further minimise discomfort.
What are the benefits of this treatment?
Skin tightening and texture improvements are the biggest benefits. Most people will respond effectively after one session and will be able to see the effect immediately. those with deeper wrinkles may benefit from further treatments spaced 6-8 weeks apart.You can expect to look younger and fresher, while over time your skin will respond by naturally building more collagen and increasing elastin production.
